Take Flight

Help support the Take Flight program at Independence Charter School. In addition to Nicaragua and Ecuador, strong demand for this amazing program has led to the addition of a Colombia trip.

We have already raised over $9,000 to support this program but need to raise $3,000 more to insure that all students, regardless of economic level and/or ability to pay, are able to take part in this amazing experience. Help us raise the final $3,000 by March 4, 2016 so that all our students can Take Flight.

The mission of Take Flight Scholarship Travel Program at Independence Charter School is to develop thoughtful global citizens through service-oriented international travel. 

Today’s fields of economics, health, communications, and technology are global in scope. Our children are coming of age in a world where nations increasingly work together to solve problems. Students who understand their place within a global context are well-positioned to participate in this essential exchange of ideas, skills, and humanity. Students at Independence Charter School practice global citizenship every day through language-learning and country-studies. Through Take Flight Scholarship Travel Program, they have an opportunity to experience global citizenship on a truly international level​.
